The Avicenna First Aid Mental Health Training

Until 2024, we have proudly offered free First Aid Mental Health training to community chaplains and workers, thanks to generous external donations and sponsors. This training is vital, as it equips those on the front line with the skills needed to provide emotional and psychological support. The importance of this programme cannot be overstated, as it empowers our community leaders to be resilient in the face of mental health challenges.

Training

First Aid for Mental Health Level 3 (FAA Certified)

This accredited course is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and certain skills necessary to provide initial assistance to those in need of mental health support. The course content covers a range of topics related to mental health, including defining mental health and exploring the various factors that can impact it. The course also delves into a holistic approach to mental health, using depression as a case study to understand the condition better.

The “Mentorship Toolkit” is an essential aspect of the course, providing students with practical tools and resources to support individuals struggling with mental health issues.
Additionally, the course covers the connection between nutrition and mental health through the “Eat To Beat Depression” module, highlighting the importance of proper nutrition in maintaining good mental health.

Finally, the course explores the metaphysics of food, helping students understand how food can impact not just physical health but also mental, spiritual, and emotional well-being. Through a combination of hypothetical case studies, and pragmatic steps, the First Aid Mental Health Level 3 course provides individuals with an introductory, yet holistic, understanding of mental health and equips them with the skills necessary to provide support to those in need.
